"Canadian Rockies, Snowmobile on the Columbia Icefields: Lying adjacent to the Banff-Jasper Highway is the Athasbasca Glacier which forms part of the Columbia Icefields. Modern snowmobiles take the visitor on an unforgettable five mile tour of this glacier."
Side note: I want one of those snowmobiles. It looks amazing! Maybe Madison could get some for the city buses in the winter? A girl can dream....
Ha, I've never clicked on that "next blog" thingie before but for some reason decided to this morning and your blog came up! This is cool! All the sharpie marks look EXACTLY how my writing looks when I attempt to write on a bus! Postcards are great. I used to buy postcards and then paste stuff on top of them and then send them to people. I should start doing that again. It was fun. Anyway, just wanted to say "cool!".
I collect old postcards from thrift stores. I place them in an envelope titled 'vacation destination.' When I ride the bus I take one out and uncap a Sharpie marker and place it in the middle of the postcard. As the bus stops and sways, jerks and slides- the Sharpie does too. These drawings serve as a record of my daily commute- the least exciting of trips- marked on top of an image representing the most exciting of trips... the ones where you stop and buy postcards...
The drawings are catalogued by the date the bus ride/drawing was made, not by the date I posted it to this site. Click on the images for a larger view! Really- they look better larger!
