"Mt. Leconte- Altitude 6,593 feet- Great Smoky Mountains National Park: Rising more than a mile above Gatlinburg at its base Mt. Leconte is known as the 'Tallest' peak in Eastern America. A number of trails lead to its summit, and it is the most climbed peak in the Smokies."

I believe you subconsciously tracked a pretty decent route up the smoky mountains. This should really be posted in their visitor's center.
